Christus Spohn
MEdical Tower
The North Tower at Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline opened on March 28, 2023, after a five-year rebuilding project. The new tower cost $335 million and includes 200 patient beds, an emergency department, and a level II trauma center. It also features decentralized nurses’ stations, individual patient rooms, and a new chapel.
The opening of the new tower is a major milestone for Christus Spohn, which has been providing medical services to South Texas since 1905. The new facility will allow Christus Spohn to provide better care to its patients and meet the growing demand for healthcare in the Coastal Bend.
The new tower is also a boon to the Corpus Christi economy. The construction project created nearly 900 jobs and generated more than $400 million in economic activity. Demolition of the old Memorial Hospital is expected to begin next year.
Christus Spohn is a faith-based health care ministry that is committed to providing quality care to all. The new North Tower is a testament to that commitment
